Tim Eagle MSP has toasted the success of Ardbeg Distillery with a motion laid before the Scottish Parliament congratulating the success of the Islay-based producer in being named the best whisky experience in Scotland in Milroy’s of Soho’s Whisky Travel Index.
The Highlands and Islands Regional MSP who proposed the motion said: “It is always a pleasure to highlight the excellence of locally based producers, particularly when they are assessed so positively by an informed third-party organisation like Milroy’s who are a well-established specialist in whisky.
“You don’t receive recognition like this without a lot of dedicated work and attention to detail, so my warmest congratulation to everyone at Ardbeg on a job very well done.”

Title: Ardbeg Distillery Named the Best Whisky Experience in Scotland
Motion Text:
That the Parliament congratulates Ardbeg Distillery on being named the best whisky experience in Scotland in Milroy’s of Soho's Whisky Travel Index; understands that the index scores each whisky experience using 15 different areas of assessment, including the cost of the experience, visitor feedback, variety of experience on offer, the quality of the whisky produced, average whisky review score, tour and tasting experiences on offer, and recent industry award wins; recognises that, in order to achieve the impressive score of 92.2 out of 100, Ardbeg placed in the top five of many of the areas of assessment; further recognises what it sees as the importance of the Scotch whisky industry to the Scottish and UK economies, and appreciates the hard work and dedication of all those involved with Ardbeg Distillery, as well as the wider House of Glenmorangie team within Moet Hennessy/LVMH, to maintain such high standards and success.
